Sweet new photography from the series “A Thousand Souls” by Maciek Jasik, a Brooklyn-based photog from Poland. Spotted on Lost at E Minor.
Anne Turyn, untitled c-print from the series “Illustrated Memories” (1984)
Yesterday I went to MoMA to see the show Pictures by Women: A History of Modern Photography. The show was amazing, with work from Uta Barth and Laurie Simmons—two of my absolute faves. There were also pieces by Nan Goldin, Rineke Dijkstra, Hannah Hock, Roni Horn, and Diane Arbus, but my favorite was this print by Anne Turyn, an almost monochromatic image of a framed portrait next to a TV set.
